What is the Suzuki Method?
The Suzuki Association of the Americas has valuable resource material and information regarding the philosophy and method of Suzuki. For those interested in starting Suzuki lessons or learning more, I recommend reading checking out the SAA webpage for those new to the method.
The Suzuki Association of the Americas has an introductory course designed for prospective Suzuki Parents and teachers. If you are interested or would like to know more about the Suzuki Method, the 6 hour Every Child Can! weekend class is the perfect opportunity to become educated in its principles. I believe this is the best way to get acquainted with the method. I highly recommend it if either one or both parents can take the class. A course is usually offered annually at the Memphis Suzuki Institute at the University of Memphis.
As part of my studio policy I require new parents to attend a new parent education class. It's a relatively short, easy read and from my experience provides the best understanding of the approach and environment that I endeavor to create in the lesson times as well as in the home environment during the rest of the week.
